Evidence typed but never weighed
What it looks like. Requirements specify what kind of evidence is needed, not how strong it must be. Confidence, distributions, and error bars are produced at one layer and gone by the next, where a point estimate is used as fact.
Why it fails. The requirement stays formally satisfied while the actual epistemic basis erodes — right-type evidence at a fraction of the strength, and uncertainty that vanished at a boundary nobody audits.
Instead. Codify required evidence type and minimum strength per claim class, and reject below-threshold claims rather than accepting them with a note. Track evidence-density trends. Preserve uncertainty representations across layer boundaries and refuse to coerce distributions to points without explicit propagation. Watch for generated content used as independent corroboration.
